Keep it simple!
Avoid borders, fancy font types and pictures.
Always let your most current career profiles or educational achievements come first, whichever one stands out the most.
By studying and understanding the job profile, this will enable you to incorporate useful and relevant information in your covering letter.
Remember your covering letter reveals how well you communicate, what your experience and qualifications are, relevant to the position for which you are applying. It should also contain a brief outline as to your level of professionalism and give an idea as to your personality. This normally attracts the attention of an employer to your resumé.
Most importantly, your CV should be customised for the different employers and roles to which you are applying.
Each step of your career should be prioritised so that the strongest and most recent aspects get far more attention than your earlier careers.
THE HEADINGS must be attractive, brief and consistent, in order that the reader can tell where one bit of information ends and the next one starts; they must never be confronted by a sea of irrelevance or ambiguousness of text.
YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION will be alive and expressive, making best use of the unique grammar that applies only to CVs.
PROFESSIONAL ROLES/TITLES will be highlighted and explained so that people know what you did above and beyond the confines of your official job description.
YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS should be linked to the rest of the text in order that it makes clear sense and is corroborated by facts, figures and descriptions.
OTHER INFORMATION that should be included on your CV are: driving licence, own transport, languages spoken, etc.
